Sikeen is a Los Angeles-based rock band blending Arab, South Asian, and alternative rock influences into a genre-fluid sound. Drawing from the diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of its members, the project moves freely between heavy guitar-driven production, electronic textures, Arabic melodies, and bilingual songwriting.
With a sound that ranges from Nu Metal and industrial rock to Middle Eastern musical traditions, Sikeen creates music that feels both aggressive and deeply rooted. English and Arabic come together naturally throughout the music, giving each track its own character while connecting contemporary rock with SWANA influences.
No Escape
“No Escape,” featuring Abdullah El-Khatib, brings together high-energy Dabke, Zajal-style Arabic rap poetry, and Industrial/Nu Metal influences. The track was commissioned as an entrance song for Palestinian wrestler Idris Abraham, giving the song a natural sense of intensity, movement, and confrontation.
Built around the idea of standing your ground and refusing to surrender, the track uses a combination of English and Arabic vocals to create a powerful, commanding atmosphere. The Arabic sections draw from the energy and rhythm of Zajal, while the heavier production brings in distorted guitars, industrial textures, and Nu Metal influences.
The song’s lyrics take the form of a direct challenge, addressing an opponent with confidence and defiance. The repeated “There’s no escape” refrain reinforces the track’s central feeling of being relentless and impossible to contain, while the Arabic verses add another layer of cultural and linguistic identity to the performance.
With its combination of Dabke-inspired rhythm, Arabic rap, heavy rock production, and forceful vocals, “No Escape” represents Sikeen’s ability to bring traditional and contemporary influences together without losing the raw energy at the heart of the band’s sound.
